Reviews of Asana
Asana, the tool that organizes me
Comments: Using Asana has helped me work more effectively and professionally by keeping a detailed track of activities and tasks, as well as executing projects in a professional manner.
Pros:
I like using Asana because it makes organizing my projects, tasks, and work much easier. It is also very useful when collaborating with my team because it has allowed me to keep track of all the activities we’ve done.
Cons:
The only thing I don’t like about Asana is that it can be a bit complex for those trying to learn to use the tool, as it has multiple functions, which can be challenging for new users.
Ready or not, Asana is here for you
Comments: Overall asana is a great tool, I’ve setup an account for every company I worked for the last few years and it has been a game changer ever since. I do have quite a few years of project management experience so it is quirky and exciting for me to use this tool. I recommend teams looking to implement dedicate an internal or external PM to setup the tool for your company’s internal teams by understanding what current challenges they face when providing status updates on projects. This tool needs atleast 90 days to really get it setup for companies with 150 employees or less but will become an instant hit if you dedicate the resources to get it started
Pros:
Asana is a great tool for the type A project manager or teams that enjoy craft organizational tools with a twist. Asana has a TON of different customizations such as creating rules for tasks once the completion date has been reached or allowing you to assign a collaborator to a child tasks with a parent action
Cons:
Since there are so many custom tool options it may motivate teams to delay the initial setup of the tool to make it work for your industry or line of project tasks and milestones
I Truly Tried
Comments: Honesty, I have tried 4 different times to like Asana. I was originally introduced to it through a job, and had no control over the setup, look or functioning. It felt cumbersome and inefficient. First impression, hated it. About a year and a half later, I was reintroduced to it, also in a work/team setting. I learned a little more, and was still not a fan. Attempt #3 was on my own. I found a training class and took it, thinking that the more that I knew about the functioning, I would probably like it better. I did, a little bit, but by then I had been introduced to Trello, and Asana did not measure up. I'm currently using it again in a work/team manner, and have come to accept it. I still don't love it based on a few features (for example, if someone assigns me a task, but hasn't tagged what project it is, I am flying blind), but I have, for the most part, learned it and accept it in situations where I don't get to choose. One feature that I absolutely LOVE about Asana though is contingent tasks. If, for example, I'm waiting for a certain contract addendum, I can put that in as a task, and when it comes in and I click the "completed" button, the next task (that couldn't have been done without the first) shows up. Of course, this is something that has to be set up when the project is created, but it is VERY handy as I'm working my way through.
Pros:
Dependent tasks (contingencies). This feature is brilliant.
Cons:
Very bland, not hard to use, but not easy, either.
Alternatives Considered:
Asana - your one step shop to collaborative work environments.
Comments: It has been incredible beneficial interface for our organization and has personally helped me a ton to stay on task and focus on the most important tasks first.
Pros:
Asana is a great tool for any business that works within multiple levels. We use it across our organization to stay involved and collaborative. It's been so beneficial to have immediate feedback from team members about projects.
Cons:
Sometimes switching between companies/jobs is a bit clunky. There isn't a whole lot to complain about when using it, however.
Good for teams, a little bit overwhelming
Comments: Asana works well for team projects, keeps things organized, but can feel a bit much at times. Good for bigger projects, but maybe overkill for simpler stuff
Pros:
I like how easy it is to track projects and see who's doing what. The layout is simple and it keeps everything in one place. Makes teamwork less messy
Cons:
Can get a little bit overwhelming with too many tasks and notifications. Sometimes it feels like more work just managing the work
Alternatives Considered:
Great for Project Management across a remote team
Comments: Used widely amongst the team across all areas of the business with vary levels of full engagement. We initially had all the company goals mapped out and had these filtering down into various teams sub goals, but then realised several of the teams weren't using the platform to record in this way, so we downgraded and allow the teams who love it to use it in the way that best suits them.
Pros:
As a project management tool it's strong - lots of really simple to use layouts and project templates so no PM experience required to get started. It's reporting functionality is great too, and goal setting is really useful to the team.
Cons:
The price. We'd love to go for the biggest plan but for a start up it's hard to justify the full cost if only certain teams are adopting it. It can get expensive pretty quickly.
Very Pleased!!
Comments: Love it. It's a great product that for me is very dialled in now. I won't be moving unless they start removing functionality and options.
Pros:
Asana has a lot of moduality. I'm a very particular person and very systems-minded, and I can really tailor Asana to those specific, high-level needs. That said, Asana manages to offer that power of options without over-crowding the UI/X and making the platform feel sluggish or over-stimulating to view.
Cons:
Very few things that are largely insignificant compared to it's strength. There are small details like the pop-up windows from completed, deleted or altered tasks appearing on the left of screen obscuring the menus/ projects. You have to close each one until you can get to click your next project.
A one-stop-shop for nonprofit project management
Comments: Asana has been a lifesaver for my nonprofit—we are able to segment our projects into quarters of the year, different programs, and more. We can easily communicate important information and share files pertinent to specific deadline-based tasks. The calendar view helps to visualize critical deadlines, and the robust organizational tools allow us to create prioritized ranking of tasks easily. For businesses and nonprofits, these tools make project management a breeze. I can scarcely remember how we managed before Asana!
Pros:
I love how user-friendly Asana is and how easy it is to share projects with teammates.
Cons:
My only complaint has been my own user error—when I began, I had two different accounts with separate clients and different emails and it made logging in confusing.
A user-friendly interface and customisable workflow project management tool
Comments: My experience with Asana has been really positive overall. I appreciate its clear, visual layou. I can set up simple to-do lists for daily tasks, but also use Gantt-style timelines for larger projects. This visual variety helps keep projects feeling manageable, no matter their complexity.
Pros:
Asana has been a game-changer for managing our client design and campaign projects. Its user-friendly interface and customisable workflows make it easy to stay organised on complex projects. It’s a fantastic tool that has scaled with our needs, we couldn’t imagine managing projects without it now.
Cons:
While Asana is powerful, it can feel overwhelming for new users as there is a wide variety of features and customisations.
Powerful Task & Project Management Tool
Pros:
Asana allows me to track my own tasks as well as tasks that ladder up into larger projects and campaigns. Asana provides transparency and accountability into managing work across teams and organizations, and generally seems to be customizable and adaptable to an organization's needs.
Cons:
Like a lot of software, if you don't set it up in a way that the software can be maximized, you're going to miss out on the value. For example, if different teams in your organization set up their own Asana accounts independently and under different formats, you're going to lose the value of being able to track work across teams and functions - find a way to set it up together even if some work doesn't always need to be visible.
Alternatives Considered:
Simple yet fully effective
Comments: Excellent and I couldn't see our company wanting to replace the software. The other thing to mention is that I am sure there resolution services are good however we have never needed to contact them in the years that we have been a customer. The software never seems to glitch which is unheard of.
Pros:
It is so effortless to use. Instead of software trying to justify its cost by making things more complicated than it needs to be, asana just allows you to tailor exactly the internal sheets you need so you can collaborate easily with a widespread team.
Cons:
The only downside with Asana is just its level of integration with other software that we use on a daily basis. We knew that Asana didn't integrate with the software we wanted it too but decided that it was still worth implementing within our business.
Great project management software
Comments: Overall, Asana meets all of our needs and the large portion of our wants.
Pros:
I love being able to keep everyone on the same page. When implementing our software product, Asana lets each person on the project know what is expected of them and what is expected of others. There is no "I thought you were doing that" or "what are we waiting on". Asana eliminated this. I also love being able to build templates that I can utilize again and again. I don't have to start over each time.
Cons:
I wish that Asana had the ability to segment users more. I want complete control over who can comment, who can post, who can complete task, etc. Asana does some of this but it needs to be more granular.

Asana Review
Comments: My experience with Asana has been absolutely great!!
Pros:
Asana helps to keep me organization everyday. The product is easy to use and the GUI is user friendly. I Love Asana. It has been my life saver
Cons:
There is still as lot of information on Asana that I do not know how to use yet. I could use more training.
Asana - I couldn't work without it
Comments:
Asana is a huge part of my work experience. I literally spend maybe 15% of my total time at work on Asana, as I work in operations. There are tons of different uses for it, to list a few that I use:
1. Content calendar for email marketing
2. Board for review dates of internal knowledge articles and templates
3. Personal boards for each of our team members listing tasks
4. Team boards that show each team members list of capacity (overlaps with 3)
5. Meeting boards where anyone is welcome to add a card into a 'to be discussed column' where we discuss ideas in a weekly meeting
Pros:
I liked the incredible customisability the most about Asana. It's a software that has thousands (maybe a slight hyperbole) of potential uses. We use it for so many things, and it is incredibly integrated into my daily workflow I couldn't imagine working without it.
Cons:
Asana is slightly lacking options regarding levels of user access into projects. For example, who can comment, who can view, who can add attachments etc..
Asana works well when you make it work for you
Comments: I have a positive experience with Asana! I have yet to find the perfect software in general, so it of course is not without its minor flaws. I'd highly recommend this product.
Pros:
If you know how to use Asana and all of its features, then it can work wonders for your team. Asana is helpful for tracking shared tasks on a team-level, such as a team that is planning an annual event with multiple tasks, deadlines, and departments (marketing and sponsorships, event logistics, registration management, etc.). Your team's Asana can consist of multiple "Projects", with sub-categories within each project for your individual tasks. Tasks can be assigned to as few or as many teammates as you'd prefer, and can be set to reoccurring or one-time only. Tasks can move between sub-categories and between projects. Our team also uses Asana for weekly team meetings, where we check off each task as an agenda item, and will sometimes turn an agenda item into a task on someone's to-do list, adding a due date and moving the task to a relevant project.
Cons:
Sometimes, the functionality and innerworkings of Asana can be rather complex for a team's comprehension. With some training and sharing of best practices, teams can truly make Asana work for them. The cons of Asana lie more with the users, as everyone needs to be on the same page on using Asana and how the team specifically wants to manage tasks. Every team has their own preferences. Also, as someone who represents multiple non-profit organizations in my job and has multiple emails/aliases, it can also be challenging if you have already created an Asana account with one email. There is a way to merge all your Asana "teams" into one log-in, but it is difficult to do so if you have already created an Asana log-in.
Asana is a highly approachable project management platform
Comments: I was introduced to Asana four years ago by a director I was working with. We used it to track our marketing projects. Since then I've used Asana with two other teams, and each time I've joined a new team the platform quickly became indispensable to our project management. It's how I plan my day, update my clients on projects and collaborate with team members.
Pros:
Using Asana is intuitive. It's so easy to pick up. Especially once you find the task view you prefer. I like using the Calendar and Gantt views, but there's something for everyone. It also is a great system of record for projects. The whole team can connect on a project's overall progress but also on its details, and the ability to add hyperlinks and attach docs to tasks keeps everything in one place, which is indispensable for successfully managing bigger projects.
Cons:
I don't dislike anything about Asana, but I've used different tiers of Asana throughout the years and am currently using a tier that doesn't include the ability to set a project's status. I miss that feature.
Asana changes it workplace for the better
Comments: We’re very happy with how asana has increased our team projects work AND individually employee organization. We use it to help manage employees work loads and oversee productivity. This lets us manage without micro managing: so if tasks are getting done and the projects are moving along (as you can see with an “on track” measuring tool) then we are fine trusting our employees to get the work done. This would be much harder to accomplish without a tool like Asana.
Pros:
Asana has been instrumental in helping our employees and team at a small nonprofit probe, manage and track individual tasks and team projects. It’s been a dream tool in project management across teams with the ability to establish a project visually to all with individual tasks and the ability to assign tasks to others AND see when tasks assigned to others are completed. We establish at employee KPI’s here at the beginning of the year and the Goals function helps us measure and track these with updates you can do monthly, either manually or have them update automatically, depending on your markers.
Cons:
My only complaint is that it has more complexity and capability than we can use without taking the time to really offer trainings in it. So I know we’re using it clumsily and not to full capacity for our event planning for a large fundraising event at the end of the year. But it would take us more time to train using it than we currently have right now.
Asana gave us a fortune in managing our projects.
Comments: Asana has given our team a helping hand in project planning and management which is why we have experienced great success from our projects. It ensures that we have everything and everyone on the same page during the entire project lifecycle.
Pros:
Asana task view boards allows us to keep up with the real time progress of our work. The team communication tools has offered us an efficient way to keep our team united during the entire project period by helping us share updates easily. It offers exceptional project reporting function that offers incredible insights that allows us to align our work with our objectives.
Cons:
Everything about Asana has melted our hearts. We can't get anything to like least.
Fantastic task management program
Comments: Asana helps us to manage tasks with multiple steps and multiple stakeholders need to collaborate and accomplish the task in timely manner.
Pros:
I like that it allows my team members to collaborate by commenting on tasks and sharing details on the project which ensures smooth workflows.
Cons:
So far i have no complaints about the product.
Asana Review-MN
Comments: Overall, my experience has been great. Even when I switched teams at work and my new team didn't use Asana, I continued to use it because it just makes my life easier.
Pros:
I like the automation you can set up on Asana, I find myself using recurring tasks a lot and also being able to complete a certain action on a task automatically sending that task to another section. I also love just how easy it is to use and how aesthetically pleasing it is to the eye. The fun unicorns shooting across the screen also provide a certain level of reinforcement.
Cons:
I'm overall a pretty big fan but there are certain features that don't exist in Asana but maybe they will soon that I wish did already. For example, I wanted to create a task template out of a subtask but found out it only lets you do that with tasks and not subtasks. I reached out to support about it and wondered if as a workaround I could just copy the subtasks from one task and apply them to another and I was unable to do that as well.
A prestigious product for managing our team projects. Asana has no match
Comments: It has been a very special experience getting to manage our team projects with Asana. Our team has been able to work more closely together which has enabled us to get our tasks completed in the right time and with the best results. Asana task planner has been assisting us to keep focus on our project objectives.
Pros:
Asana has a very user-friendly collaboration space that makes it easy for the team to work together. It has amazing project management tools which makes it so easy to plan, track and control our project activities from start to the very end. Asana work automation tools allows us to save time performing the repetitive tasks by automating them.
Cons:
Asana has not had any major issues to complain about. The support team has also listened to our requests and act instantly.
Wonderful and easy to use project management tool
Comments: Helps me manage tasks with multiple stakeholders need to collaborate and accomplish the task in a timely manner.
Pros:
I like the ability to create different views based on needs and being able to assign tasks and set a timeline with deadlines for each task.
Cons:
I think the interface could be little more streamlined.
Why Asana is the Best for Instant Messaging, Live Chat and PPM
Pros:
Asana has a wide range of features that streamlines business task management, team collaboration and file sharing in real-time.
Cons:
I am experiencing zero flaws on my end when using Asana ever since the vendor fixed the bug I was encountering on my iOS App.
Honest review based on experience.
Comments: Overall, my experience with Asana as a new user has been positive. It's a powerful tool for project and task management, particularly useful for teams. While it has a few complexities that require some learning, the benefits in terms of organization and productivity are well worth the effort. If you’re looking for a robust solution to manage your work and collaborate effectively with others, Asana is a solid choice.
Pros:
What I like most about Asana is its intuitive interface and powerful task management capabilities that enhance team collaboration and productivity.
Cons:
What I liked least about Asana was the limited customization options available in the free version, especially regarding advanced features like reporting and automation.
Enhancing Operations with Asana
Comments: Asana has significantly improved our kitchen's organization and efficiency, making it easier to manage orders and ensure customer satisfaction, and enhanced our customer service operations by centralizing tasks and improving team collaboration, ultimately boosting our service quality and response times. I Highly Recommended!
Pros:
Asana helps us streamline our kitchen operations with clear task assignments and deadlines, ensuring orders are fulfilled on time and customizable workflows help us manage customer inquiries promptly and efficiently.
Cons:
Getting the team accustomed to using Asana took some time initially and occasionally, integrating Asana with other tools for customer communication can be challenging.
