The perfect commission calculator - A salesperson's best friend

Comments: This is a boon compared to manual calculations, and it saves so much time for our commissions dept. I can't imagine a life where I go back to doing it by hand. Fast, lightweight, and customizable, it's perfect!

Pros:

Can effectively confirm, calculate, or predict commissions as well as track old pay periods. Very useful for planning my current and coming months' payouts for my family.

Cons:

At the end of the year, it cannot predict the next month, and occasionally cannot extrapolate enough data for perfect future commissions.

Making commissions simple!

Comments: Best payout management software I've used in over 5 years!

Pros:

1. Transparency in what goes into attainment for a specific quarter - accounts closed, terms of conditions wrt payment schedule, years of contract, etc. 2. Leaderboard 3. Historical payment tracking

Cons:

Might be specific to my company, but when we say we have a TRD to attain, I'd like a breakdown of what goes into the TRD right within my dashboard rather than having to raise a ticket to get access to it.

Comments: I have had a great experience so far with this tool.

Pros:

It is great to have everything in one place, this way I can track my quarterly progress and look back to previous years to compare the results. It is a great tool for understanding how much money you will be paid and for keeping track of your quota KPIs.

Cons:

I was new to the whole Sales quota concept and this is the first tool I used, I cannot say it was difficult, it was just I did not know the basics of the quota and compensation.

Detailed Commission Break Downs

Comments: Have had a great experience with Captivate.

Pros:

Being able to see detailed reports and graphs that breaks down how exactly I am getting paid. This includes tiered commissions, percentage commissions, and much more. It gives you peace of mind to know that you are getting paid correctly.

Cons:

Sometimes it is delayed on when the graphs are updated.

A great tool that has found the sweet spot between functionality and simplicity

Comments: We use CaptivateIQ to automate variable compensation calculations, along with tracking sales performance against quota. Time spent every month performing calculations is reduced by more than 90%, while calculation accuracy has increased. Payees no longer need to wait 1-2 weeks after month close before seeing expected payment amounts. They now have the option of previewing updated pay statements in real time as deals close.

Pros:

Easy for a single individual to administer the entire application. Successfully and intuitively mirrors excel functionality. Ease of integration with Saleforce CRM. Relatively easy to configure plans and troubleshoot any errors in calculation logic. Wealth of help articles and plan examples made available to customers in the product knowledge base. Pace and consistency in which the application receives updates.

Cons:

Building custom reports is relatively convoluted compared to the rest of the application. Pay statement formatting and customization is functional, but a little basic.

Alternatives Considered: Spiff and Xactly Incent

Reasons for Choosing CaptivateIQ: While an extremely robust tool, our team found that configuring plans and the overall use of Xactly Incent to be extremely complicated. The exercise of troubleshooting any faulty logic within plans was frustrating to say the least. There is no easy to way to trace calculations through each step to see where the problem is. So complex is the tool, that our company opted to regress back into excel statements after redesigning our compensation plans, as it was too complicated to successfully make the required changes within Incent. While also robust, Xactly Incent's integration tool (Xactly Connect) is also very complex. The vast majority of customer's will need to pay for professional services to create or modify integrations. Finally, as the big boy in the marketspace, Xactly Incent is probably the most expensive option.

Switched From: Xactly Incent and Microsoft Excel

Reasons for Switching to CaptivateIQ: We were looking for options that were easier to manage than Xactly Incent. Finding a tool that mirrored excel functionality made sense, as that is what many people are use to. Of all the products we examined, CaptivateIQ was the only one in our eyes that found the happy medium between functionality and simplicity.

CaptivateIQ meets our global Incentive payment requirements

Comments: CaptivateIQ has created reliability and greater visibility on both commission payments and simple and accurate commission reports for our employees. In the rare case there are any irregularities they can be quickly identified by the users in the portal and addressed by the finance team.

Pros:

The simplicity and clarity of the incentives reporting has made life much easier for both the finance team and the sales and management teams. The level of integrations and the ability to support multiple currencies makes the system ideal for all our trading locations.

Cons:

Much like all new applications the UI can be a little confusing to begin with but, becomes quite intuitive very quickly.

Alternatives Considered: Nintex Process Platform, Commissionly and Performio

Reasons for Switching to CaptivateIQ: The exemplary Sales service and flexibility of the CaptivateIQ solution to meet both our global incentive payment requirements whilst natively integrating with our existing line of business solutions.

Ease of use!

Comments: Very pleasant product experience. Simple/intuitive to navigate and learn.

Pros:

I love how easy it is to navigate the tool. Without any training, I'm able to bounce around and view different aspects of the reporting available.

Cons:

N/A... however maybe it would be beneficial to work with company's revenue teams to build in a paycheck calculator to take other things into consideration like accelerators, addtl kickers, etc.

Great Product, Great Service!

Comments: CaptivateIQ has an excellent support network. They have a helpdesk you can email with any questions or issues, office hours for technical support and you get assigned a business development manager to ensure your needs are met and address any functionality you would like to see implemented in the software. There are several things I have suggested that I have seen implemented since using the software. They are constantly making upgrades to make the software better!

Pros:

CaptivateIQ has saved me so much time when calculating commissions! In addition, the statements the sales reps review allow for transparency in how their commissions are calculated and confidence they are getting paid correctly.

Cons:

The design of the commission statements can be a little intimidating; however, the formulas are very similar to Excel and CaptivateIQ has office hours which are held virtually where they pair you with an expert that can answer any questions you have.
