7-year Committed Customer to LessonSpace Across Two Education Companies

Comments: [sensitive content hidden] of LessonSpace, chased us down when we were running Tutorfly.com to be one of his first few customers. The way that he and [sensitive content hidden] and subsequently him and [sensitive content hidden] iterated tirelessly on the stability and dynamism of the video conferencing solution made it a no-brainer for us to continue to use Lessonspace for GoSchoolBox as well.

Pros:

Lessonspace's teaching tools are engaging, dynamic, and intuitive for teachers and learners of all different tech backgrounds.

Cons:

As a customer since 2017, we've certainly appreciated how robust the platform has become over the past 7 years! The stability questions from 2017 have been addressed and this really is an enterprise grade platform.

LessonSpace is the Preferred Choice for Online Learning

Comments: LessonSpace has been amazing. I currently use it for one business and I will soon be launching two new businesses that will use LessonSpace.

Pros:

I have tested and used other Whiteboard Systems, and LessonSpace is by far much better. Each student can have a personalized classroom. Lesson materials are saved. The tabs are fairly easy to navigate for quick content changes. Every Whiteboard can be saved. The Document Tab is very useful. Other whiteboard systems do not have this. PDF/Whiteboard Tabs can be set to allow students a way to log-in and complete documents on their own. (I do not recommended guest logging for group classes, only private for lessons as LessonSpace do not charge you unless there is more than one active connection.) Breakout Rooms can also be used to store unneeded tabs or notes as well as be a private space in group settings. You can upload larger PDF documents and the classroom loads the content smoothly in each session. The Cobrowser app works nicely for sessions where students need to engage in content and it serves as a backup for playing videos when the Shared Video app is not loading. You can easily turn on and off read-only mode. Editing (undo) is easy. If you have ever used a Preply classroom you will love the difference. You can display content on mobile devices. LessonSpace has a great API if you plan on integrating it into your own platform.

Cons:

As I mentioned, the Breakout Rooms can be used for Private Notes. But, they are still visible on mobile. An actual Private Tab would be nice. Unlike many whiteboard systems you can use mobile browsing. But it would be nice to have floating videos available when switching tabs. Currently, you must switch between video or tabs. Likewise, some students do not understand the navigation at first, so a little information for students would be nice (i.e. two fingers to scroll, etc...). Sometimes the Shared Video does not load. This can be frustrating because you are not sure if everyone is following along or looking at a blank screen. A workaround is simply sharing your screen. But keep in mind the benefit of shared videos is that you are not relying on your Internet connection.

The students and tutors on the website asked to stop using the platform, since they wasn't farmilar with it , and I didn't want to invest time teaching then

Comments: Good whiteboard. Limited functions. Good to see they now have breakout rooms but clunky functionality for this

Cons:

Unable to upload powerpoints and keep functionality Sizing/resizing issues needs more built in material/lesson resources/assessments(possible additional earner for lessonspace). Easier access for students to access recordings

With Lesson space, the future is now.

Comments: I use lesson space for my private tutoring business. My students have been happy because of the tools and the fact that we can interact in real time. The recording are a bonus that comes handy during revision time. The platform is easy to use and has a lot to offer.

Pros:

The whiteboard is the best for someone who is teaching maths. The platform also plots graphs, the library has a calculator and one can search for pictures and documents while the lesson is live.

Cons:

Nothing really. I am hopeful that in the future one can be able to use animations on uploaded slides.

It's integration with teachworks you. Also I like many of the tools that I can use such as the backgrounds

Intuitive platform that is easy to use and easy to administer

Comments: Overall, our experience implementing and using LessonSpace has been overwhelmingly positive. Our tutors love it and our students find it easy to use. The LessonSpace team are always on hand to help so we have had a very positive experience.

Pros:

LessonSpace is easy to manage as an administrator in terms of setting up tutors and students. As a user, it is intuitive and easy to navigate. Having one dedicated link for tutors and students to use really keeps things simple as well as being able to keep resources in one place. Having recorded sessions to refer back to is also a real advantage.

Cons:

Tutors can use their LessonSpace account for students that are not part of our organisation so having some functionality to prevent that would be useful.

Great Platform

Comments: Love this platform in comparison to the other platforms I work with. I haven't utilized the library much, but I will.

Pros:

Being able to mark up on a share page! Present feature to read books to my Littles.

Cons:

Drawing tool sizes. Rainbow slide color choices maybe? The erase tool needs to have the feature of an eraser head instead of just clicking to erase. I work with 5 and 6 year olds and I end up with a lot of erased boards! They can't get themselves to the undue arrow sometimes...

Lesson Space is Awesome

Comments: When I started my business I used Zoom but ran into a lot of functional problems such as long loading times, using the whiteboard feature, and sharing files. Lesson Space actually works like it should allowing me to interact with remote students in real time rather than me having to do everything and they just watch.

Pros:

I love the whiteboard because I can post a worksheet on it and watch the student complete the work in real time. The share screen feature is a go-to for me especially when my student and I need to research something together or I need to share an image that I can't post. I also like that I can post homework and the student can complete the homework in Lesson Space outside of their sessions.

Cons:

I hate the text feature. I would like to see a spell checker AND be able to bold, italicize, and underline text.

Excellent resource for remote education

Comments: Overall very positive. Wonderful resource and the future of remote education.

Pros:

Great usability writing and dragging/dropping pictures. Excellent reliability. Responsive customer service.

Cons:

Not a great way to download boards. The current method tends to have a glitch. Ideally download tabs as a PDF.

Happy Tutor

Comments: I really love the integration of all the different features. It is very convenient for tutoring because students have the option of viewing everything that we worked on even when we are not meeting.

Pros:

I love how everything is in one platform- a meeting space, a whiteboard, and a space to upload worksheets.

Cons:

It is often difficult to find files from the library. It is sometimes difficult to format files that students have sent.

Easy to manage classroom experience

Comments: It's very easy for teachers and parents to use.

Pros:

It's easy to manage and they continue to improve. They started by having each page as a tab but now you can upload a document all in one tab. You can also go back to where you were if you refresh, big bonus! And they have a dice now, yay! I think they take on improvements and they are a work in progress. You can also create objects to manipulate and move e.g. drag and drop in this classroom. The thing I like the best are the rewards. You can do fireworks, stars and petals all over. But the best is the earthquake for when they really do well.

Cons:

There is a share screen function but it needs to also add in the ability of the student to move things on your screen, I think this is the only thing missing. In this way you could use other curriculum that can't be uploaded e.g. Abridge Academy.

Making remote learning more enjoyable for all involved

Comments: Lessonspace has been valuable for our remote learning clients. Our instructors have enjoyed using the whiteboard and other tools for having remote learning sessions and found using Lessonspace valuable. As an administrator, I have gotten quality feedback from the instructors using Lessonspace.

Pros:

It is a more educationally sound way to have online learning for remote students and teachers and educators. It is more versatile to use than compared to other video conferencing platforms.

Cons:

It is a bit more challenging to send Lessonspace links to other email addresses while in a Lessonspace meeting compared to other platforms.

Comments: I have been using lessonspace for 7 years and it has only benefitted my tutors and my company. My clients love it and they are very happy with the quality of the online tutoring thanks to lessonspace.

It is a great interactive platform for teaching with lots of helpful tools and applications.

Comments: I have been using Lessonspace now for a while and I wouldn't use any other platform.
If I have any issues, which I rarely do. The Lessonspace team are easy to contact, help is always at hand and any issue is sorted quickly.

Pros:

Me as tutor: Lessonspace is easy to use and navigate. The amazing tools available help me to create enjoyable and engaging lessons for my students. My students: Find logging in easy and enjoy using the tools to create amazing work and complete their tasks. I especially like the rewards i.e. stars, fireworks, etc. and my students love them, even though they are secondary age up to young adults.

Cons:

There isn't anything that I don't like about Lessonspace. However, myself and my students would love to see the return of the balloons! They look good floating down the screen at the end of a lesson as a reward.

I love the product! Please give us more Pen thicknesses.

Comments: It is a perfect place to host lessons and tutoring, it is simple for students to contribute to the space and I love that I can have them locked on to exactly what I am doing.

Pros:

I love how simple it is to use and how smooth it is to set up. Well executed product with wonderful function. I also love the troubleshooting prompts when I am having issues connecting to a student

Cons:

Wish I had a wider range of pen thicknesses, maybe more like a spectrum instead of a few options (See Notability Pen options). I also sometimes have issues where an image I upload is way too large for the space and then I have to size down.

LessonSpace Review

Comments: Overall experience is amazing, with ease to use.

Pros:

The ease of use. It is very convenient and all of my students can easily find navigate through the website.

Cons:

The lack of shapes. If there were more shapes, it is easier to teach math courses.

A Top-notch Product for Educators

Pros:

Lessonspace is a great product, loaded with purpose-built tools for tutors and educators that improve the learning experience for students. It's also a very user-friendly product. The Lessonspace team is continually adding new features and enhancements to further improve the user experience for tutors and students.

Cons:

No complaints. The product has improved significantly over the past few years and any minor issues from the past have been addressed.

Useful tool for online teaching

The interactivity available, the change of background to graph paper and the equation option

The fact that it alters all the spacing on PowerPoint slides when they are imported is annoying

Lessonspace - Easy to Use

Pros:

Easy to use, simple user interface and lots of functionality for many different subjects when I'm tutoring. Flexible for tutoring many different subjects and PDF import is very useful for me.

Cons:

It could have more advanced LaTeX features for Mathematics.

Lessonspace - An effective, excellent and easy-to-use online platform!

Comments: I have loved used Lesson Space over the course of the last year and plan to continue to use it. It is fun, accessible and makes online teaching a comfortable experience.

Pros:

I like that that that Lesson Space is so versatile. You can label the whiteboard slides, change their order and add as many as you need for the lesson. It has similar capabilities to Word or Power Point enabling you to use pens, highlighters, text boxes, etc. but added features such as emojis and a chat space which creates an added layer of communication. But what I like most about the platform is the ease with which you can prepare lessons. It is simple to upload pictures and documents and you can always re-use material or adapt it for a later lesson as the uploads remains stored in the library. All in all, its a truly fabulous way to teach online and I would be very reluctant to change to another platform.

Cons:

There can be an occasional echo on the line, but this is probably more due to the wireless network connection.

Lessonspace is great!

Comments: I have had an overall positive experience with Lessonspace. It is my favorite of the online teaching tools I have used.

Pros:

I love the interactive tools, especially for math tutoring. I also love how easy it is to navigate and troubleshoot.

Cons:

I don't like how things like background blur tend to overwhelm and crash or freeze lessonspace.
