OK but not a great fit for smaller businesses and nonprofits.

Comments: We bought the system as a solution that was able to integrate with other software we use. We continue to use the system - but partially because installing another system is so labor and cost intensive. Staying with the "devil we know" has been our course of action. My relationship manager is very supportive.

Pros:

It is a robust and well designed system. I has far more features than we would ever use.

Cons:

Many updates actually are not helpful to us. They don't have a "less robust" option for smaller businesses. Product support is spotty, especially when it comes to API integrations. And some things are very hard to do in Sage Intacct, that were actually quite simple back in Sage Peachtree.

Comments: Our experience is OK. We spend more then needed since we cannot remove international currency and we never even used it. Support is just OK, as we are always referred to long articles when we just need simple instructions. The system is mostly user friendly outside of reporting.

Pros:

The ability to create your own views. I find the system to be pretty user friendly.

Cons:

The reporting module is very difficult and we can never get reporting support, always told we need to contact professional services for non-complex reporting that should be basic reports. And don't like having to log in to a site to submit cases, would rather email and be able to see the email history versus signing in to review the full case.

Comments: Sage Intacct helps us close our books within our required reporting deadline of workday 5. Using integrations allows us to eliminate manual work. In addition, it is scalable so it can grow with us. No solution is perfect and others were researched prior to our decision to implementing Sage Intacct and we believe we made the right choice in selecting Sage Intacct

Pros:

I like the way that other programs, ADP Payroll and Ramp Visa integrate into Sage Intacct. That saves a lot of time.

Cons:

I dislike how deposits are posted in the general ledger. For example: If there's a deposit that contains multiple payments and the total deposit amount is not reflected in the Cash GL but it is posted by individual invoice line items. If a deposit of $20,000 contains 20 checks ( or credit card payments) from vendors that are paying multiple invoices (for this example, 5 invoices for each payment) the deposit total of $20K doesn't appear as a single debit to the Cash, GL account but 100 lines appear on the Cash GL.

Comments: Overall, I am generally pleased with the working version of Sage Intacct that I have, but it has been an arduous journey to get here. I would recommend that you are careful with your implementation partner as many headaches can be avoided with a thoughtful, thorough cutover.

Pros:

I like the flexibility that Sage gives me in terms of reporting and I like the accounting I can assign to department heads for approval of their spending.

Cons:

I think there is a complexity to the reportage that is unnecessary. The account group structure is difficult to navigate and must be maintained diligently if your chart of accounts changes.

Powerful Financial Management tool

Comments: It is an excellent tool for financial management. Since it is a cloud-based app, the users can access their financial data from anywhere, facilitating remote work.

Pros:

It helps in the automation of repetitive tasks like invoicing, expense management & consolidations. I also like the ease of getting all the Financial reports for any data driven decisions.

Cons:

Cost of the application is a bit at higher side. Also, the team who are using this app may need additional training to familiarize with the software.

Highly Recommend Sage Intacct

Comments: Overall, I would highly recommend Sage Intacct. It is easy to use and provides us what we need to keep business moving smoothly.

Pros:

I like the ease of use. Everything works smoothly and it is so easy to fix an issue if something was done in error. The reconciliation function has allowed us to become much more efficient with our month end process - what used to take us roughly 5 days now takes us 1 day!

Cons:

I cannot think of anything that I do not like about Sage Intacct. It really works well for our business needs.

Sage Intacct Can Change Your Life

Comments: Overall I love the Sage Intacct product. If I know of anyone looking for new software, I tell them that this is the product to get and have. I'm constantly looking at the additional modules that are being added on and built upon to see how we can utilize it for our businesses. Our organization is comprised of roughly 30 different entities, most of which have similar ownership, but they're in very different industries, and Sage helps us keep it all together on one platform and gives us everything we need in order to handle all that we do.

Pros:

They're constantly investing in making their product better based on what their users are telling them that they need or want to see. There seems to be no limit on what they will do to make sure that everyone that uses their product is satisfied.

Cons:

We had a period of time when things were just out of control in our finance offices, and reviewing the release notes wasn't even a blip on anyone's mind as a priority. Turns out that while we were losing our minds, features were rolled out that might have helped us that we missed because we didn't review the release notes, and they were features that needed added to a role to even see them or know they existed if you didn't review the release notes. More than likely an "us" problem more so than a Sage problem, but if we had known that was possible, it might have changed our "priority" thinking.

Cons:

Our implementation was rough, but we have spoken to many who had lovely integrations and deployments! Speak up if you feel like your implementation team is just going through the motions.

Don't understand the hype

Comments: We bought a canned package for our industry which was supposedly pre setup out of the box. It wasn't, many of the functions are still not working such as ASC 606 Deferred Revenue. The implementation was a disaster and we are still fixing bugs so it is not working anywhere near the way it should.
The represented integrations turned out not to exist.
Also functionality which to me should just be part of the package are not and it seems when you bring it to their attention all they want to do is upsell you a support package to fix what should be integral to the package already.
Very disappointed if I had to do it over probably would have kept looking and not made the switch.
There were so many misrepresentations as to functionality and integrations it wasn't worth it.

Pros:

Ability to extract Data for reporting purposes

Cons:

The functionality is quite frankly poor at best. The user interface in 1980's.

An essential tool for everything finance related

Comments: A smooth well organized experience with frequent updates that make the user experience even better than before.

Pros:

Sage is packed to the brim with features. Everything is organized neatly, and it is easy to run reports for very specific details. If there isn't a report in the system that you need, chances are you can create it.

Cons:

The user interface can be a bit bland. It could use a fresh coat of paint to look more modern.

Long Term Care Intacct User

Comments: Implementation was a little rocky, but to be expected. Using it day to day is very functional and productive. It is a very broad accounting product that can be used in multiple businesses.

Pros:

The modules offered and their ease of use.

Cons:

The customer support. Like many software companies these days, they want you to try and solve your own issues using their help guides. The personal touch is missing from customer service.

Easy to use and navigate. Most things are easy to figure out on your own but if you can't, the help button directs you to the answer.

The price--increases each year are very large.

Sage is Essential to our Company

Pros:

Sage allows our company to know "real time" where we are financially. This allows each of our departments to track their spending against their budget and know if they have the ability to spend or hold back. Our [sensitive content hidden] can view a variety of reports that were easy to create, to give him an overall perspective of the company.

Cons:

The price is steep, but the detail we get and the ease of use has made this the best product we have found.

Sage Intaact makes life easy

Comments: My overall experience has been 10/10. I don't even remember having to learn Sage since it's so user intuitive.

Pros:

Customizable features throughout the platform, allows my team to all implement measures to help ourselves specifically and we can share these customized aspects together to hone the platform to what we need as a whole.

Cons:

Our Fixed Asset module is a little bothersome compared to the rest of the platform's features, but it in no way takes away from what Sage provides as a whole.
